A chain is a flexible component composed of several components (or elements) connected in the form of hinge pairs. It is a non conjugate meshing transmission and combines the characteristics of gear transmission and belt transmission. It is an important mechanical transmission foundation component.

Chain transmission has the advantages of high transmission force, high efficiency, long service life, strong adaptability, and easy maintenance. It is suitable for large center distance, constant speed ratio, multi axis transmission, open transmission in harsh environments, transmission with high impact vibration, low-speed transmission with large loads, and high-speed transmission with good lubrication.
